The Challenge
When Schweppes Australia set out to build their new state-of-the-art plant in Welshpool, WA, the goal was simple: increase reliability, boost operability, and maintain the highest hygiene standards in beverage production.
This was no small task. Schweppes’ portfolio includes over 40 well-known brands including Pepsi, Sunkist, Solo, Gatorade, Cool Ridge, and of course, the Schweppes range, produced across eight manufacturing sites nationwide. The plant needed a piping system that could keep up with high-speed, high-volume production while meeting strict food safety requirements.
The Solution
Air Energy supplied Europress 316 stainless steel press-fit pipework, with diameters up to 108mm, for the Welshpool facility.
The system supports Schweppes’ syrup production process—from dissolving raw sugar into simple syrup, to mixing flavour batches, to transferring finished syrup for carbonation.

Stainless steel pipework is essential for maintaining this hygiene level and Europress delivers both cleanliness and longevity under constant cleaning cycles.
The Results
The Welshpool plant’s can filler runs 108 filling valves and processes up to 1,200 cans per minute. Thanks to Europress pipework, the system operates reliably, supporting Schweppes’ ability to produce over a billion litres of beverages annually across Australia.
